Bario is famous for its Bario rice and pineapple, cooler climate and hilly landscape combined with friendly highland people will make this a memorable trip!
Arriving at Bario, you will feel the warm hospitality of the local Kelabit community. You can also check into cosy accommodation and enjoy a traditional Kelabit dinner. It is excellent to have a good meal with regional delicacies like bamboo rice. Spend an evening strolling down the quaint village, interacting with friendly locals and learning about them.
On the second day, you enjoy the green forest and clear streams. As you go through the wilderness, you want lovely vistas of hillsides with an environment filled with mist. Visit traditional houses along with rice barns, getting more insight into the culture of the Kelabit people.
When it hits noon, you can ascend to Prayer Mountain, a unique site known well for its spiritual significance and lovely panoramic views of the entire landscape. Take a short moment to reflect or meditate, and offer prayers.
On the final day, say farewell to Bario Valley and the local people. Get ready for departure. Take a final walk through the whole village, taking in the sights, sounds, and flavours—the place is home to many happy memories and inner peace.
DAY 01: ARRIVAL BARIO / TOURING / NGIMAT AYU HOMESTAY.(L/D)
Fly from Miri to Bario.
Greet by the guide at Bario Airport. Transfer to check in at homestay. Breafing on your itinerary by the guide.
Lunch before tour of Bario to 2ndWW monument, 2ndWW plan wreckage, villages in Bario and other attractions in Bario.
Dinner and overnight at the homestay.
DAY 02: PRAYER MOUNTAIN / TOURING / NGIMAT AYU HOMESTAY.(B/L/D)
4.30am Sunrise trek to prayer Mountain and back to visit the penan settlement near here.
Backt to the Homestay for breakfast/lunch here before pickup to visit slat spring near Pa Umor perhaps to witness the kelabit way of producing their mountain salt.
Bario tour to other villages namely Pa' Umor to Pa' Debpur Briddge and Pa' Ukat village visit Tom's vegetable farm and Mazinah's craft while dinner wait you at the homestay.
Free at leasure and dinner before cultural evening being entertained and participate in Kelabit cultural performances and traditional games beeing served with light local kelabit beverages.
back to the homestay. Rest,dinner and overnight.
DAY 03: DEPARTURE.(B)
Breakfast the homestay. Transfer to Bario Airport for your flight to Miri.
